Dungloe Notes 6th June 2010

Pioneers: The local branch of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association are holding a presentation of silver and gold pins at the 7.30pm mass in Dungloe on Fri, 11th June. Lifetime certificates for sixty years or more membership will also be presented. Eligible members who wish to receive these pins/certificates are asked to contact Ann Timoney, Sheskinarone (Tel: 074 95 21771 after 5pm) or Bríd McCole (Sacristan) as early as possible

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament: The most Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration on Mon, Tues & Wed between 10.30am & 10pm.

Tidy Towns Lotto Results: 29th May Lotto numbers.1, 7, 15, 21 No jackpot winner. €50 each to Rab Morrison -Dungloe and Bridin Walsh-Dungloe. Jackpot this week is €2,800.

Tidy Towns: In an effort to improve the overall appearance of the Main St advertising will not be allowed on the Main St area. We would be grateful for your co-operation in this matter.
We would also like to thank all the locals for the big turnout for Thursday nights big clean up for the June bank holiday weekend especially the young children who did a great job.

C.P.C Course: Anyone with a bus, coach, lorry licence needs to do CPC training in order to hold on to your licence as it is mandatory to complete this course. This course will be run in Ionad Teampall Chróine Dungloe in the coming weeks. To register Tel the Ionad Teampall Chróine on 074 95 22198.

Attentionall Villages and Rural Dwellers in the Rosses area

Forbairt Na Rosann is holding a meeting in Ionad Teampaill Chróine Chapel Rd. On 11th June at 8pm to discuss the very severe economic situation we find ourselves in . We are proposing to produce a plan for Dungloe and all the villages in the Rosses. We are keen to involve everybody in the plan and would like to see you all at the meeting. Mr Frank Dolaghan who has developed the plan will outline his proposals and all will have an input.

Dungloe Tidy Towns Committee: Would like to say thank you to everybody that turned up on Thursday night last for the big clean up before the bank holiday weekend. There was a great turnout. A special thanks to all the children and young people that turned up.

A.S.I.S.T: 2 Day Workshop ( Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) Safe Talk– half day programme on suicide alertness for everyone. A.S.I.S.T—A two day skills building workshop in suicide first—Aid will run in Ionad Teampall Chróine Dungloe in August 2010. Class will run if there is sufficient numbers. Siopa Pobal Na Rosann: Application forms for funding are now available from the Rosses CDP offices: Tel: 9561686. Closing date 30th June 2010.

Rosses Foroige NYP: Final additions of vegetables, grow bags have been added and products over the next months will be used in cookery camps over the summer. Lots of effort have been put into this project and all credit to the young peoples enthusiasm. Still searching for bench seating in good condition for NYP members that can be used outdoors. Can anyone sponsor benches for the local youth project? Contact 9561931 for further information.

The annual Burtonport/Kincasslagh Water Safety fortnight will take place as usual from Monday 5th July until Fri 16th July. Swimming lessons for children aged 4 and upwards will take place at the block yard beach in Keadue weekday mornings Monday 5th to Friday 9th July.
Safety and Rescue training for children aged 12 and over who have level 5 swimming ability (Donegal Water Safety Award) or equivalent , will take place at Cruit Bridge on the afternoons of week one and in the mornings of week 2. All additional information in relation to costs, times, contact details and registration will be advertised when this becomes available.

Strim Night: All those with Strimmers are asked to give one hour of there time to strim the
Approach Roads & common ground around Maghery prior to Sundays clean up. Assemble at Ionad an Mhachaire @ 6.30pm Thurs 10th June.

Maghery Heritage Group next meeting is on Monday 14th of June @ 7.30pm in Ionad an Mhachaire. Everyone welcome.

Maghery Festival Next meeting of the Maghery festival is on Thursday 17th of June at 9pm.
Maghery Festival Quiz will held in the Strand View Bar on Friday 11th June at 9.30pm.
